Uratta Secondary School started on 8th September 1977 as Uratta secondary commercial school with an initial enrolment of 240 students made up of 140 males and 106 females out of which 80 were Borders (35 males and 45 females). The school is situated on a 40.644 Acres or 16.4498 hectares piece of land at Orie Uratta, the center of Uratta as well as the seat of government of Owerri North Local Government Area.

Priority Areas for intervention
  • Reconstruction /Rehabilitation of classrooms to provide a good teaching and learning environment
  • Provision of laboratory and teaching equipments
  • Security
  • Increase in student enrollment.
